We are MedTech Color, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing diverse perspectives in the medical device industry.


This Privacy Policy describes how we use and share the personal information we collect from or about you when you use our websites and related portals and interact with us electronically, in person, at an event, or on the telephone.


We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy before submitting information to MedTech Color through our website, member portal, or other submission channels, and to contact us at info@medtechcolor.org if you have any questions or want additional information about our privacy practices.


OUR MISSION PURPOSE; LETIGIMATE INTERESTS

MedTech Color’s mission is: To advance diverse perspectives in Medtech by providing a professional home, fostering leadership excellence, and driving innovative solutions that improve health outcomes for all patients. As such, any information we collect serves to further our mission, including but not limited to the following:

HOW WE COLLECT AND USE YOUR INFORMATION

You can access some areas of the website without submitting any information to us. However, if you wish to access additional content available on this website or participate in some of our activities, we may ask that you provide us personal information. We typically collect personal information directly from you in the context of providing services to you. This information may include your name, contact information, and professional information (such as the organization you are affiliated with). How we use this information generally depends on how and why you interact with us. For example:


If you complete the Contact Us form or otherwise reach out to us, we use your information to respond to you, maintain records of your involvement and affiliation with us, and send you news and updates.


If you sign up for our events, webinars, pitch competition, or to join our email list, we use your information to process your requests, send you communications, and to provide related services to you.


If you donate to MedTech Color, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, and home address. We have engaged a third party to collect and process your payment information on our behalf. This information is used to process donor payments and for annual reporting.


If you sign up for a MedTech Color membership, we will collect your name, email address, home address, phone number, and employment information. If you choose to provide it to us, we may also collect your ethnicity, age range, gender identity, education level, annual income, and photo. We use this information to communicate with you regarding your membership, maintain your membership, display your involvement in our Member Directory, improve our programming and strategic objectives, and process your membership payment. We have engaged a third party to collect and process your membership payment information on our behalf. 


When you create a profile on our Member Portal, we will collect the information that you elect to upload to your profile, such as biography, your education and job history, and company information. Other registered users of the Member Portal may also view your profile information through the directory if you elect to make your profile public. You should carefully consider whether you wish to submit personal data and tailor any content you submit appropriately.


We also may use cookies and other data collection technologies to automatically collect certain information about the device you use to access our websites, such as your device IP address, device ID, and type of browser/operating system. We may also collect information about your browsing activities, such as the pages you viewed. We use this information to ensure our website can be viewed on your device, to personalize and tailor your experience on the website, and to improve the functionality of the website by understanding general usage traffic and trends. 


We also collect some information about you from third parties, such as organizations with whom we co-sponsor events. We use this information, and the other information mentioned above, for our internal business purposes, which may include providing you with services you requested, sending you administrative, transactional, or marketing communications, improving our services, content and web site offerings, and ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.


HOW WE SHARE AND DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share your personal information with organizations or individuals outside of MedTech Color in the following instances:


We may share your personal information with organizations or individuals that provide services to us. These services may include, among other things, creating or maintaining our databases and website, payroll or payment processing, and marketing. It is our policy to not allow our service providers to use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than for providing services to us.


We may share your information with carefully selected business partners and affiliates whose products and services may be of interest to our members and community. All of our business partners and affiliates are obligated to implement opt-out mechanisms and honor any opt-out requests by recipients incompliance with applicable laws.


The list of MedTech Color’s conference and meeting registrants, including the attendees contact information provided as part of registration, is provided for one-time use to authorized exhibitors for that one conference/meeting. Attendees may opt-out of being included on the foregoing list at the time of registration.


We may be required to provide your personal information in response to a court order, subpoena, government investigation, to comply with another legal process, or as otherwise required by law. When you terminate your membership or cancel the website account access, we may continue to share information about you according to our legal and regulatory requirements.


We may share your personal information if we believe that doing so is, in good faith, reasonably necessary to enforce our policies, respond to or defend claims, to respond to an emergency, or to protect the rights, property or safety of MedTech Color, our community, and/or the public. If 


MedTech Color is involved in a reorganization or is merged with or into another entity, or if all or substantially all of our assets are transferred to another entity, your personal information may be transferred to such entity as part of the transaction.


If we need or want to share your personal information in any other circumstance, we will take steps to notify you before we do.


Credit Card Information

We do not disclose credit card information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, MedTech Color submits the information needed through secure payment gate sites to conduct the transactions.


Cookies

“Cookies” are small text files that a web site transfers to a web site visitor’s hard disk or browser foradded functionality, or for tracking website usage. We use cookies to improve your experience on ourwebsite, and measure the effectiveness of our online presence. Our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests. You may access, update, or delete your personal information by logging in your Member Portal account and utilize the setting function. In addition, you may contact us to correct any incorrect personal information that we maintain about you. You can email us at info@medtechcolor.org to request that we correct your personal information. We may ask you to provide sufficient evidence of your identity for your own protection so we can ensure the information is being released to the correct person. In some cases, our business requirements and legal obligations may prevent us from being able to delete your information. If we are unable to delete your information, we will let you know if we are unable to do so and why. You can opt-out of receiving marketing emails from us by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email we send you. If you opt-out of marketing emails, you may still receive administrative or transactional emails from us.


SECURITY

We have implemented reasonable security measures to protect against the unauthorized access, acquisition, loss, misuse, or alteration of the personal information under our control. These security measures are designed to safeguard personal information and any online transactions performed on the website. Despite the steps we take to protect your personal information, you should be aware that your information is transmitted across the internet and that no method of transmission over the internet is100% secure.. Therefore, we urge you to take reasonable security steps to protect your information and be aware of these risks when sending sensitive personal information to us.

We are located in the United States and we operate our website from the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be advised that any information you provide to us or that we automatically collect will be transferred to the United States. Our website includes social media features, such as the Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter),LinkedIn, and YouTube buttons, that run on our website. These features may collect your Internet Protocol address and which page you are visiting on our website, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Site. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it. 


ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND SOFTWARE

Products and services powered by machine learning, artificial intelligence technologies and other software are increasingly being used to gain efficiency. We may use such technologies to, for example: proofread and find discrepancies and correct grammatical errors in documents and publications; summarize lengthy documents; and prepare the first draft of documents, such as newsletters, blog posts, and marketing materials. When doing so, we will observe all applicable standards to the use of such technologies.
