FDA OMHHE Health Equity Innovation Award: Enhance Equity Funding Opportunity (U01)

The FDA Office of Minority Health and Health Equity (OMHHE) works to promote and protect the health of racial and ethnic minority and tribal populations through research and communication that addresses health disparities.

As part of OMHHE’s Enhance EQUITY Initiative, OMHHE is announcing a new Health Equity Innovation Award: Enhance Equity Funding Opportunity (U01). The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to fund innovative research that will strengthen and advance minority health and health equity research.

This Health Equity Innovation Award funding opportunity enables OMHHE to advance health equity focused research by engaging across a broad range of entities, including academia, minority-serving institutions, and non-profit organizations.

FDA OMHHE intends to fund up to $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2023, in support of this cooperative agreement program. It is anticipated that up to four (4) awards will be made, not to exceed $250,000 in total costs (direct and indirect) per award. Applications are due May 8, 2023, by 11:59 PM Eastern Time. To learn more about this funding opportunity visit OMHHE’s website.

Achieving health equity requires commitment and dedication from all corners of the public health and research community. Together we can continue to make a difference.
